Syntes Studio

Syntes Studio was an industrial design agency founded in 2003 by Marcus Von Euler (Rudbäck), Björn Ögren, Jonas Groth, Andreas Enqvist, and Erik Petersen.

At Syntes Studio, we used storytelling as a vehicle to blend industrial design philosophy with communication and branding. Our goal was to create intelligent experiences by integrating product design, graphic design, packaging, and retail.

"Design is cost-effective because it is a one-time investment that continuously represents your brand every time the product is seen."

Support to the POC Team

By leveraging our design expertise, we helped enhance POC’s product offerings, ensuring they meet the highest standards of safety, functionality, and style. This partnership underscores our ability to contribute to the success of leading-edge sports equipment.

The O2 Cocoon 2007: A Mobile Design Revolution

The challenge was to create a 3d product design platform for O2, transforming their brand from 2d advertising to tangible products. The concept "A Life Within" emphasized the operator's role in a mobile phone, resulting in the creation of the O2 Cocoon

Unique Form Factor, The O2 Cocoon was designed to embody the O2 brand (a European telecom provider) through a seamless clamshell form that transitions between a music player, phone, and alarm clock. The design features a smooth hinge, debossed symbols, and a hidden exterior LED display for personal messages.

User Experience is Paramount, Innovative design elements, such as the scroll-wheel hinge, stereo speakers, and unique battery cover, enhance the user experience. When docked in its "Nest," the O2 Cocoon transforms into a radio alarm clock, displaying large clock digits on the LED screen letting you charge while you sleep and wake up to your favourite Mp3s, adding a personal and interactive touch. launched alongside The O2 venue in London.

Mips Riding Helmet 2006: Advanced Safety and Design

Syntes Studio has been the strategic design and product development partner throughout this project. Initially contacted by the inventor and founder in 2005, Syntes Studio was tasked with transforming the innovative technology into a tangible product, making its potential clear to investors and venture capitalists.

The mission was to enhance rider safety while respecting the traditions and aesthetics of horse sports. The helmet design incorporates new technology and branded MIPS details, signaling innovation. Key features include a release mechanism indicated by a knob inspired by a fuse and a groundbreaking ventilation system with air holes in the cap.

For the helmet launch, Syntes Studio developed a limited edition merging fashion with safety. This helmet marks the start of spreading the MIPS patent across the helmet industry for maximum safety. The "MIPS inside" concept, branded with the release mechanism knob, aimed to become a recognizable feature in future helmets but didn’t survive.

Concept Jo Malone: Elegance and Innovation

When Jo Malone left her company, the owner Estée Lauder enlisted Syntes Studio to innovate a new retail experience and envision an updated design language for the brand.

Syntes Studio presented the "Scent Library" concept, where each fragrance has a unique story visualized through the bottle design and its cover, creating a cohesive and immersive experience where the store is a scent library full of scents and stories to be explored.
